Pico Rivera & Bike Trail (Medium)

Distance: 48 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Although all three routes return on the San Gabriel River, today each route pretty much goes its separate way. This medium starts by heading into Whittier and then south to the Coyote Creek Trail. Like the long, the only climbing of the day is in this first stretch, but much less than the long route. You follow the Coyote Creek into the San Gabriel River trail and continue to the end in Seal Beach where you have lunch. After lunch, you loop back to the San Gabriel River trail and take that all the way back to the start. After the initial climbing, you can see by the profile that this is a very flat ride.
