Dead of Winter Double Registration

Los Angeles Wheelmen Dead of Winter (DoW) Double and Double-Double Centuries – Dec. 5/6, 2026

Now in its 14th year, the DOW will be held on Dec 5th and 6th, December 2026.  The ride gives you a chance to complete that last Double of the year and/or get that Volunteer credit needed for one of the CTC awards.  We look forward to seeing you there.

General Information about the event:

  • Please take a moment to read through this information and if you have any questions, please email us – lawheelmen2019@gmail.com with those questions before you register as there are no refunds or transfers of the registration fee.
  • The DoW course is a combination of the Lowland and Highland Grand Tour courses.   It is the Lowland course from the start to Ojai.   From there we follow the Highland course (climbing Casitas Pass) back to Port Hueneme.  There is no RWGPS file provided for the DoW.
  • The event is run with limited support.   DoW checkpoints will provide Hammer Nutrition products and water only.  As in previous years, there is no lunch service on the ride.  We will provide drop bag transportation to the midpoint rest stop – Juanamaria Park on the course.  Drop bags will not be returned.
  • The DOW will be limited to 75 riders each day.  Please register early if you are planning to ride.
  • The Host Hotel and Start/Finish location is the Port Hueneme Holiday Inn Express. 350 East Port Hueneme Road, Port Hueneme.  Here’s a link to book your room DoW Room Booking
  • A lot of folks ask about the weather at that time of year.   Please keep in mind the temperatures will be from cool to cold along with a possibility of rain.  Also remember daylight hours are much shorter than during the Grand Tour.  Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and lights, especially for the descent down from Casitas Pass.   Many riders will be descending this at night so have a strong light for the descent.
