Distance: 28 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)
The two short routes are somewhat similar. Unlike the long and medium, they do not go to the Valley, but tour the Westside instead. This hilly short does a few extra hills along the way, but both ride the same general area. This hilly short starts by heading west, but taking in some of the hills in the Homby Hills area and Westwood. It then does some extra climbing in the Palisades area before heading to Santa Monica for lunch. After lunch the route makes a direct return to the start. As you can see on the profile, there are a number of hills, but you never get above 600 feet above sea level, so none of the climbs are really long.
