Tri County Safari (Short)

Distance: 38 miles and 1700 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)

All routes stay together for the first 15 miles.  This takes the riders northeast up to San Dimas and continues east to Claremont.  The Short splits off here. While the long and medium make a loop to the south, this short continues east almost to Upland before returning west back through Claremont and on to San Dimas and a trip past Puddingstone Reservoir. It then continues east back to the start. The highest point on the route is in Claremont and is the same as that for the long and medium. However, this climb is very gradual and won’t really seem like a hill. As you can see by the profile, once you get to the level of Claremont, there is no other significant climbing on the route. The lunch listed on the route sheet is almost at the end of the route. Riders may want to look for something earlier for at least a break or early lunch.
