Distance: 57 miles and 700 feet of elevation gain (barometric)
All the routes are similar. In fact, the long and medium routes stay together until lunch. The two routes start out looping around the long Beach and Seal Beach area before finally heading down to Huntington Beach. The route down is a bit inland from the coast. Shortly after lunch in Huntington Beach, the two routes split. While the long does an extra loop to the south, this medium heads directly to the coast and then back north along PCH all the way to Seal Beach. It heads inland a bit along the San Gabriel River and back to the start. As you can see by the profile below, the route never gets much above 100 feet above sea level and is very flat.
