Off To The Races (Short)

Distance: 35 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

All routes are the same for the first 16 miles down to Manhattan Beach. This is a fairly direct route over to Culver City where you pick up the Ballona Creek trail to the beach and follow the beach bike path to Manhattan. At this point this short route heads directly to the races by a short hop up and over the ridge in Manhattan (the bump in the middle of the profile). After watching the races, you return back to the “Corner” by a route that pretty much retraces your route down, with a few variations. There will probably be food available at the races, but an optional lunch is provided on the return route. As you can see by the profile, you never get much above 200 feet above sea level.
