Laguna Canyon Century

Distance: 96 miles and 2200 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Starting in Torrance we head east and south into Long Beach. Here we pick up the Pacific Coast Hwy which we ride 25 miles all the way to Laguna. Then it is up Laguna Canyon – the only significant climb of the day (the central peak on the profile below). However, note that the canyon only climbs 400 feet over 6 miles, so it is a very easy climb. We stop for lunch in the Irvine area and then head back via an inland route until we hit the coast once again in Huntington Beach. From this point the route basically retraces our route back to the start in Torrance. At only a little over 2000 feet of total gain, this is one of the flattest centuries we have in the club library.
