Grand Tour Lite – 2019 (Century)

Distance: 100 miles and 3400 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

This route starts by heading east to Simi Valley. Much of this stretch is a long gentle up-grad along Santa Rosa Road. There is a short climb up to Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks and another climb shortly after entering Simi Valley. After a rest stop in Simi Valley, the route returns west to Moorpark. Here the route climbs over Grimes Canyon. This is the main climb of the day. The top of Grimes comes at about the 48 mile point and  there is no more significant climbing on the rest of the route. The route proceeds west to Santa Paula and Saticoy where there is a second rest stop.  After this last rest stop the route is relatively flat as it proceeds in a somewhat zig-zag course back to the start.
