South Bay Typical (Short)

Distance: 28 miles and 1500 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)

Like the long and medium, this short goes down to San Pedro and returns, but it really never rides on the Palos Verdes Peninsula much at all. It takes an inland route down to San Pedro for a break or lunch. The return does ride a portion of Palos Verdes Dr. North (the major climb on the profile below) but then returns on a route similar to the long and medium. This includes the short climb up Doris Way which is a very steep 100 yards. (It is so short it barely shows up on the profile – it’s that tiny blip at mile 24).
