Will Rogers State Park (Medium)

Distance: 38 miles and 2200 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Today the two routes do not stay together much, although they do come together at Will Rogers Park and for lunch. This medium starts out with a relatively flat loop to the south through Cheviot Hills and Mar Vista. It then heads to the Pacific Palisades where it joins the short route for a climb up Amalfi Dr and on to Will Rodgers Park.  After stopping in the park to (perhaps) watch some polo, both routes head back south into Santa Monica for lunch. After lunch, this medium leaves the short route again to head north through Brentwood, Westwood and Holmby Hills before returning to the start. This last stretch adds a few more hills. If you look at the profile, you can see that the route is fairly hilly, but no hill climbs higher than 500 feet above sea level and the climbs are not excessively steep.
