Arcadia ‘N Stuff (Medium)

Distance: 35 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Today the long and the medium routes are identical except that the long makes the trip up to Chantry Flats while this medium skips it. Also, all 3 routes are together for the first 17 miles. The routes start out by heading over to the Rose Bowl and making one lap around the stadium. The routes then return to South Pasadena and head east through San Marino. The short splits off and this medium and the long continue east to Arcadia. They turn north on Santa Anita Avenue. This medium turns off in Sierra Madre while the long continues up to Chantry and back. The medium route heads over to lunch on Colorado Blvd (to be later joined by the long riders). After lunch, the return is fairly direct with a pleasant ride through the Cal Tech campus (where Sheldon Cooper works). As you can see by the profile below, there are a few hills, but nothing compared to the climb to Chantry on the long route.
