Viva San Fernando (Easier Short)

Distance: 25 miles and 1000 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

The two short routes are somewhat similar. Unlike the long and medium, they do not go to the Valley, but tour the Westside instead.  This easier short cuts out some of the climbing done by the hilly short. Like the hilly short, this route starts by heading west, but skips some of the climbing in Holmby Hills. It rejoins the hilly short for the trip through Westwood and UCLA, but then skips the climbing in the Palisades done by the hilly route. The two routes come back together again in Santa Monica for lunch. After lunch both make the same direct return to the start. As you can see below, there are still a number of hills on this easier route, but they are not as high as those ridden on the hilly short route.
