South Bay Ramble (Medium)

Distance: 43 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

All three routes start out together as they head through El Segundo to Manhattan Beach. At this point the short splits off, but the long and medium continue together to Redondo. At that point the long splits off to loop around the peninsula while this medium continues directly south to Palos Verdes. It rides along the coastal side of the peninsula to the Whale Watch Center for a break and then returns back, stopping for lunch at Golden Cove. Once off the peninsula, the medium route heads into Torrance where it rejoins the long route on the return to the start.  There are several short climbs on this route, but none of them take you quite as high as the high points of the long route.  There is one very steep, but very short, climb in Palos Verdes.
