Honolulu For Lunch (Short)

Distance: 32 miles and 1700 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)

While the long and the medium routes take a circuitous route to Montrose, this short route heads directly there. The route goes directly north through South Pasadena, past the Rose Bowl and up Descasno and on to Montrose. Here the short stops for lunch in Montrose (to be joined by the medium riders). After lunch, the short joins the medium route for a direct return. This takes the riders back the way they came, going down Descanso and back around the Rose Bowl. They then proceeds by a fairly direct route back to the start. The high point on the profile below is the top of Descanso (which the route passes through twice). As you can see, the route is essentially one long up-grade to lunch and then mostly downhill back to the start. The profile is much the same as that of the medium route, except that the medium adds more miles before lunch.
