Distance: 37 miles and 400 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)
All three routes are somewhat similar today. The long and the medium are identical except that near the end, the long makes a run up to the top of Signal Hill while this medium skips that. The routes start out looping around in the immediate area of the start. Then they head east for a while before turning south to the edge of Huntington Beach. After returning west to the coast, they follow the coast back north through Seal Beach and back into Long Beach and a stop in Belmont Shores for lunch (2 options). After lunch we tour a neighborhood of nice homes before heading off towards Signal Hill. While the long breaks off to climb to the top of the hill, this medium simply heads straight back to the start. As you can see by the profile, there are no significant hills at all on this route. On the map, the red portion is the common route between the long and medium routes and the blue indicates where this medium differs from the long.
