Pasadena Passion (Medium)

Distance: 51 miles and 1800 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Both the long and the medium stay together for the first 26 miles. They both head east through the San Gabriel Valley travelling along the northern edge of the valley. Once they get to San Dimas, the two routes split. While the long does a loop further east, this medium turns at Puddingstone Lake to begin the trip back west across the valley, stopping for lunch in Covina. The long rejoins the medium route shortly after lunch for the remainder of trip west across the valley. There are quite a few hills on the route, but as you can see by the profile below, most of the route is within a 500 foot range, so none of the hills are very long or steep.  The map accompanying the long route description shows the difference between the two routes.
