Double Dam Metric Century

Distance: 69 miles and 1700 feet of elevation gain (mapping software)

The route makes a big loop inland from the coast and back, but not quite as large as the full century. The metric stays with the full century through the first two dams. We start by heading over to the LA River & Rio Hondo. We ride up the river to Whittier Narrows to ride across our first dam of the day. We then continue north to the Santa Fe Dam and ride the crest of our 2nd dam of the day.  At this point this metric century turns back south towards the start. After a separate lunch, this metric rejoins the full century for the return along Coyote Creek back to the start. As you can see by the profile, there is a significant climb as you go over Colima (the peak at 55 miles), but the total climbing is still less than the full century.
