Watermelon Ride (Medium)
Distance: 39 miles and 700 feet of elevation gain (barometric)
Both routes are different today right from the start. This medium heads to the coast via Westchester and El Segundo. It then continues south along the beach to Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes where you can stop for a break. The route then returns north along the coast to Marina del Rey and inland back to Culver City. There is an optional lunch stop along the way, but remember to save room for Watermelon at the park. As you can see by the profile, the route has a few small hills, but the highest point on the ride in Palos Verdes is only about 200 feet above sea level.
