Registration

The DEAD OF WINTER Double is a 200 mile ride on popular established routes:  Lowland and Highland Doubles of the Los Angeles Wheelmen’s GRAND TOUR.  The Dead of Winter Double was held for the first time on November 30 and December 1, 2013, with a limited number of riders, just 75 each day. The Dead of Winter Double will be held December 3, 2016, and if there are enough volunteers, December 4, 2016.  Reservations are required!

The Dead of Winter Double will follow the Grand Tour Lowland Route from Malibu to Ojai with a section added to make the 200 mile total, then the Grand Tour Highland Route past Lake Casitas to the coast before a return back to Malibu.

Difficulty Rating:  Medium
It is intended to be a last chance, low-cost double (estimated cost of $35). Support will consist of water and Hammer Nutrition products at all rest stops, with roving SAG for the duration. A 75 rider limit is necessary to keep the costs down, so a strict reservation policy will be
observed.

The Dead of Winter Double registration begins at 9 PM, August 1, 2016.  Registration priority will be set by e-mail only. The first 75 names received by e-mail will be guaranteed a spot on the ride. A waiting list will be created using the remaining e-mails in the order they are received. The e-mails should contain the following:  The subject line should be: Dead of Winter Double registration
Enter your contact information: Name, address, and phone number

Starting at 9 PM, August 1, send registration e-mails to:  dwdouble@nullaol.com
If more than one name is on the e-mail, order will be established as listed on the e-mail. Provide contact information for the first rider listed only. Contact with the other riders on the list will be made through the first rider on the list.  Payment must be made at the same time for all riders on the list, no exceptions.
Once the rider list is established, payment information will be sent to the first 75 requests received. If payment is not received in thirty days, the next rider on the waiting list will be contacted.  Based on last year’s interest we ran a second day.  If there is enough interest and volunteers we will do it again this year.

The ride will be held rain or shine, no refunds.
