Triple Dam Full Century
Distance: 95 miles and 3100 feet of elevation gain (barometric)
The route makes a big loop inland from the coast to Azusa and back. We start by heading over to the LA River & Rio Hondo. We ride up the river to Whittier Narrows to ride across our first dam of the day. We then continue north to the Santa Fe Dam and ride the crest of our 2nd dam of the day. We continue up the San Gabriel River to the beginning of San Gabriel Canyon. We then head east over to San Dimas to ride the crest of the dam at Puddingstone Reservoir. This takes us to our highest point of the day (the peak in the middle of the profile below). We then begin to head back southwest with of a choice of 2 lunch locations along the way. We end the day riding down the Coyote Creek back to the start. As you can see by the profile, there are no major climbs. The route tends upward in the first half and downward in the second half.
